“I don’t like the generalizations about my country [India]…
I’ve interviewed Hillary Clinton about 5 times and every time I used to ask her why it is so difficult for a woman to be president of the US… These are NOT conversations that we have in India. We had a woman leading us as Prime Minister about 4 decades ago!
& I heard someone say in the morning that [the United States] is the only country in the world that doesn’t have paid maternity leave. Well we have paid maternity leave…[and] statistically the incidents of sexual violence is higher in the US and UK than it is in India.”

And yes we’re screaming about sexual health, and justifiably so, BECAUSE MATERNAL MORTALITY IS HIGHER IN THE USA THAN IN SAUDI ARABIA, PALESTINE, LIBYA, AND IRAN (countries I’m sure you’re including under “these countries”). http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/women-dying-childbirth-u-s-saudi-arabia/ https://www.rt.com/usa/362297-maternal-mortality-rates-america/

Oh wow, women are parading around in vulva costumes because they want to destigmatize the female body so that we can actually get more research into women’s healthcare so that our country can finally become at least up to par with various third world countries in maternal mortality rates.

Also you act like the right to having abortions isn’t an issue for third-world women too.

Yes, there are countries out there with women who have it worse than ours, but if we’re not allowed to complain about things unless we have it the worst in the world, then I guess you better shut up and stop complaining whenever you get a broken arm because there are people out there who don’t even have any arms.

I saw a video combining Carrie 2013 with Eminem’s Legacy and I found the combination to be really relatable, inspiring, and motivational. However, I wasn’t entirely happy with the timing of the scenes; I thought that certain scenes would be better fit for certain lyrics. So I made my own.

i used to be the type of kid that would always think the sky is falling,
sporadic as my thoughts come, it’s mind-boggling, i obsess over everything…
but now i think the fact that i’m differently wired’s awesome
‘cause if i wasn’t i wouldn’t be able to work words like this
and connect lines like crosswords and use my enemy’s words as strength
to try and draw from, and get inspired off em
'cause all my life i was told and taught i am not shit

Note to any woman who has been called fat

Realize that “fat” is just the generic term that people say to women who they dislike. It literally doesn’t mean shit. I’ve been called fat & I’m literally 83 pounds. It’s a completely meaningless insult.

The insult means nothing except that the person lacks creativity.

“You’ve held your head up, you’ve fought the fight. You bear the scars; you’ve done your time. Listen to me. You’ve been lonely, too long… All your acting, your thin disguise…they don’t fool me. You’ve been lonely too long. Let me in the wall you’ve built around. We can light a match and burn it down.” My first thought was “wouldn’t it be nice if someone could do that for me” but then I get really uncomfortable at the thought of getting close to someone.

No one is worthless. Everyone has the potential to make a positive impact, via work, volunteering, activism, or even simply being nice and friendly to people.
If you’re depressed then I understand that it can be difficult to even get out of bed to do any of those things, but your existence is still preferable to nonexistence, because one day you’ll probably be able to get out of bed, and then you’ll be able to make those positive changes. If you didn’t exist, there would be no such potential.

I must stay conscious
Through the madness and chaos…
I won’t just survive,
Oh, you will see me thrive…
My roots—they run deep…
Oh, ye of so little faith,
Don’t doubt it, don’t doubt it.
Victory is in my veins…
And I will not negotiate;
I’ll fight it, I’ll fight it.
I will transform.
When the fire’s at my feet again
And the vultures all start circling
They’re whispering, “You’re out of time,”
But still I rise.
This is no mistake, no accident.
When you think the final nail is in,
Think again.
Don’t be surprised:
I will still rise.

Not only do feelings of loneliness and isolation increase the risk of death as much as smoking, alcoholism and obesity; you may also lose tone, or function, in the so-called smart vagus nerve, which brain researchers think allows us to be in intimate, supportive and reciprocal relationships in the first place.

“It’s huge to have good vagal tone, because it modulates our instinctive fight, flight or freeze response,” said Amy Banks, a psychiatrist at the Wellesley Centers for Women who specializes in the growing field of interpersonal neurobiology and is the author of “Wired to Connect: The Surprising Link Between Brain Science and Strong, Healthy Relationships.”

In the presence of a true friend, Dr. Banks said, the smart or modulating aspect of the vagus nerve is what makes us feel at ease rather than on guard as when we are with a stranger or someone judgmental. It’s what enables us to feel O.K. about exposing the soft underbelly of our psyche and helps us stay engaged and present in times of conflict. Lacking authentic friendships, the smart vagus nerve is not exercised. It loses tone and one’s anxiety remains high, making abiding, deep connections difficult.

My “stay in bed all day” game too strong

She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed…she craves attention,
she praises an image, she prays to be sculpted by the sculptor.
She don’t see the light that’s shining deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind, so she tries to cover up her pain…

There’s a hope that’s waiting for you in the dark
You should know you’re beautiful just the way you are
And you don’t have to change a thing,
the world could change its heart…
We’re stars and we’re beautiful…

You’re worth it…
Beauty goes deeper than the surface…
So to all the girls that’s hurting:
Let me be your mirror, help you see a little bit clearer
The light that shines within

No better you than the you that you are
No better life than the life we’re living
No better time for your shine, you’re a star.

I think you ladies are missing the point of the song…

I used to be the type of kid that would always think the sky is falling
Why am I so differently wired? Am I a martian?
That’s why I’m scoffing at authority, defying often.
Flying off the handle at my mom, no dad;
At school, I’m just shy and awkward.

Carrie (2013) set to Eminem lyrics
